Ebony violin tuning peg from an antique instrument made into a pendant. There is a good chance that this item was made in Europe a long time ago, though there’s no way to know for sure. The peg came from a musical instrument repair shop where people like me hate to throw something out! Paua abalone, mother-of-pearl, copper from antique piano string windings, brass and nickel. Cow’s milk finish. Cable is Beadalon (49 strands) with sterling lobster claw clasp, 18” long.
Handmade jewelry with provenance: The card backing lists materials used and explains some of the story. Postage included in price.
