Created from Tahitian black mother-of-pearl sky, white mother-of-pearl land mass, gold mother-of-pearl sun, antique piano string copper, Champlain Valley cow barn aluminum roofing, paua abalone, 1854 shipwreck ebony, purpleheart backing from a retired wooden ship builder. This pendant has a polished finish, buffed/burnished with a thin hard wax surface. It is very rich, deep and complex looking. The “sky” looks like moving cloud fronts out there on a grey day. Deeply luminous. Maple pegs through the bone vertical sides. The finding is notched into the wooden piece as well as screwed and glued. Chain is 18″ brass, sterling 2mm snake.
Handmade jewelry with provenance: The card backing lists materials used and the sources from which they’ve been recycled. Postage included in price.
